Vegas Baby!

This weekend HB and I decided to take a weekend away and go to Vegas. We've been lacking a bit of fun in our life and decided that Vegas would be the perfect place to go to reclaim that. After watching a week's worth of Vegas themed movies (think The Hangover) I was ready to have a crazy time.

Unfortunately, HB and I ended up getting food poisoning and our crazy time was spent mostly in our hotel room.

We did have a chance to spend some time at the spa in Aria and that really was the highlight of the weekend. I'd never been to a spa before but after a night of being ill HB and I decided we were in need of some R & R and booked a couples massage. With the treatment, we got full access to all the spa facilities, including a jacuzzi, a eucalyptus steam room, a cedar sauna room, fully stocked showers, and an area to get ready in. There was also a lounge with flavored water, teas, trail mix, juice, and fruits. The best part of the spa was the co-ed outdoor jacuzzi. HB and I got to relax together in the jacuzzi outside while overlooking Vegas. We hadn't been that relaxed in a long time, and I'm now a spa convert. We usually spend our extra money going out to nice dinners, but after Saturday (and the food poisoning the evening before) I think more of our money will be going to spa days.

On Saturday night we stayed in the room because we still weren't feeling well and watched a show on TLC called Extreme Couponing. We don't have cable, so we don't ever get to watch these type of shows unless we watch them on Netflix. I have to say the way these people used coupons blew my mind! HB and I are pretty frugal people, and I clip and use coupons when I can, but I've never seen savings like this. One woman's bill went from over $600 to $2.60. I was amazed. And while I can't spend hours strategically planning my coupon usage and stockpiling inside our small 1-bedroom apartment, I CAN try and take advantage of the coupons I have a little more.
