Taking Pictures in Restaurants

I've been a pretty bad blogger lately. HB started working from home last week so both of us are putting in 8-9 hours a day on one computer has meant I haven't had a lot of time to do extra stuff. But today he's outside working on the car so I'm sneaking in a couple minutes.

I wanted to share this article that I saw online yesterday called "Shutter: Let's Talk About Taking Pictures in Restaurants."

I don't really care if people take pictures of their food in restaurants. Other people. I have a problem when it's people that I'm sitting with taking pictures of their food. And an even BIGGER problem when the same people go ahead and update their facebook/twitter/blog while sitting at the table.

I guess I'm just old fashioned. I like just going to restaurants and enjoying the eating experience. I like dining with friends and giving my attention to them.

I'm also pretty anti-technology. I rarely use my phone and it doesn't connect to the internet (shocking, I know). I sometimes post on my facebook when I find a cool article (like this one) or have some good news, but I'm not on it very often.

I DO think there is a time and a place to share pictures like that. I post pictures of stuff I make on my blog because I like writing about food and I figure the people who read my blog might just be interested too.  I just don't think people who I sat next to in 7th grade really care about what my food looked like.

I just thought it was an interesting article worth sharing. I've been seeing people taking pictures more and more lately and I was waiting for when people were going to start addressing it.
