This Week on Pinterest

This week, I found myself on Pinterest! My friend Clare and her boyfriend came over to our house recently, and while cooking I showed her my was of keeping herbs fresh. Freezing them! She thought it was pinterest-worthy.

We cook so much and so often we use fresh herbs. The problem is, unless we use all of the herbs that week (and I'm not that good at planning) they go bad. Fresh herbs are already pretty expensive, so I wanted to find a way to keep the leftovers.

The ice cubes are filled mostly with herbs, and a little bit of water to keep them in the tray. The toothpicks are holding up the labels.

Another great tip I've learned to store veggies this week is cutting them up and putting them in an airtight container. For example, usually I just keep my veggies in a drawer and use them when I get around to it. But the other day I chopped up more green onions than I needed. I put them in a small Tupperware, and a week later they were still fresh! MUCH fresher than the ones still in the drawer.
