Pumpkin Patch and Apple Picking

This weekend HB and I decided to get out and go pick pumpkins from a real pumpkin patch. I love holidays and while Halloween isn't my favorite I'd never gone to a real pumpkin patch before.

We ended up driving to Chiles orchard and picked up a few pumpkins. They were huge and so much cheaper than you would get in the store! We decided to pick some apples while we were there, and got a ton. They were SO DELICIOUS. I've never had apple picked right of the tree... very different than even the local stuff I get from whole foods.

After the orchard we decided to take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The colors of all the leaves were beautiful. So many yellows and oranges and red. I've never seen seasons like this before. I can understand the appeal.

I still miss the ocean though.
