Corkboard Map

I'm absolutely in love with the project I did this weekend. I saw this corkboard map on pinterest and I thought it was a great idea. HB and I love traveling and visiting newplaces and I thought it would be a great way to document our travels over time.

We did leave out a lot of places. We've driven from CA to VA and KS to CA and made quite a few stops along the way. We didn't include places like Dodge City, Ks, that we slept about 6 hours and grabbed subway before leaving. I only included places where we've spent a few hours  and gone and done something cultural or interesting.

This is what I ended up with!

To make this, I first bought this frame from goodwill for $3. I wanted a really nice a big map so I knew it would be perfect.

I just spray painted it black to match our living room decor.

I picked up a green poster board and corkboard from Michael's. The corkboard is pretty thin and it has an adhesive on the back. Then I used a map of the USA that HB and I picked up somewhere in New Mexico and traced the entire map on four pieces of paper. I pinned the paper to the corkboard (tape didn't keep it stuck together. Then I cut the corkboard and traced paper with some scissors. After I just stuck the corkboard to the poster board. REALLY easy project.

I can't wait to add other places.
