Sunday Weigh-in

Today is Sunday, and marks a week that I've been counting calories and exercising. Ok, maybe just counting calories. I only made it to the gym twice this week between my schedule and the crowds of people who also want to get healthy.

As of today I weight 163.5, which means I'm down 2.5 pounds. I suspect most of that is water weight because I lost it within the first two days but it still gets me closer to my goal.

My biggest challenges this week were decreasing my food intake and making time for exercise. I was used to eating so much more that the first few days I was pretty grumpy. I was also pretty resentful - I wanted cheesecakes and cookies. But now after a week I'm becoming a little more satisfied with my healthy food options. Im still hating salad but I had some really great meals this week!

Best Breakfast
1/2 cup grapenuts
1/2 cup light sky milk
1/4 cup strawberries

Best Lunch
1 piece whole wheat toast
1/2 an avocado
2 egg whites (scrambled)
Top with sauteed spinach and mushrooms

Best Dinner
Turkey lasagna, but I substituted the cheese for a layer of zucchini and squash.

Making the time and finding the energy to exercise more is going to be my biggest challange. I need to find the motivation to exercise from home on the days that the gym is full. I'm not going to reach my goal unless I devote some time to that.

Hopefully next week ill have more yummy meals to report.
